Dance Troupe Practice (DTP) is a performance collective founded in a philosophy that explores the border zones between dance and life.
Our practice has lead to the creation of several performances including movement, text, live sound, and video; and DTP continues to create a steady out-put of unique, raw and challenging material.

Piece signed by Dance Troupe Practice
In The Umbrella Piece, Dance Troupe Practice and musician prOphecy sun get together for one more exciting collaborative performance. Following a ritual, prophecy sun creates a soundscape that fills up the dance space and motivates the dancers to develop specif movements sequences attached to their own feelings. Those sequences, on their turn, motivates prophecy to build up the music with new layers of sounds and noise effects. When dance and music marry together, the musician herself leaves her station and joins the dancers to a whole new dance experience until she decides to go back to create one more music pattern.
Dancers and musician work together in a semi-improvised piece which has as foundation the awareness of the each bodies’ role on the group dynamic. Here every choice of gestures and movements are connected not only with the dancers bodies and the music, but also with the use of props as an embracing installation.
